1. Introduction

Vex Collective Pty Ltd, trading as Debut Group ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, purchase tickets for our events, engage with our marketing services, or interact with our music label operations.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

We may collect the following personal information:

  • Name, email address, phone number
  • Date of birth (for age verification at events)
  • Postal address and billing information
  • Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)
  • Emergency contact information (for event attendees)
  • Social media profiles (when you connect or interact with us)

Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address, browser type, operating system
  • Website usage data and analytics
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies
  • Location data (with your consent)
  • Device information and identifiers

DJ Hire Enquiries

When you request a DJ hire quote, we collect your contact details and event brief to prepare the quote and follow up with you. We also record the referring page, campaign tags and advertising click identifiers where available, so we can understand where enquiries come from. Campaign attribution is stored in your browser for up to 30 days and attached to the enquiry in our internal workspace. We send an enquiry conversion event to our configured analytics and advertising platforms after the enquiry is saved. We do not include your name, email, phone number or message in those conversion event parameters. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Event-Specific Information

  • Ticket purchase history and preferences
  • Check-in data and attendance records
  • Photos and videos taken at events (with consent)
  • Feedback and survey responses

3. SMS Updates From the Sydney Vote

When you answer the Sydney vote on our website (the /sydney page), we collect your mobile number, your age and your first name if you give it, along with the nights, kind of night and music you pick and the ad or link that brought you there.

We use your mobile number to send you SMS messages about our events, such as when tickets go on sale. We only text you if you tick the consent box, and we keep a record of the exact wording you agreed to. Your answers help us plan events around the nights people actually want to go out.

  • If you are under 18, your answers are only ever used for Vex U18s events, never for 18+ events.
  • If you are under 13, we do not store anything you enter.
  • Answering again with the same number updates your answers rather than adding a second entry.

Opting out: every message we send includes an opt-out link. Tap it and we stop texting you. You can also email privacy@vex.net.au to stop messages or ask us to delete your number and answers.

4. Meta Pixel and Conversions API

Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. The Pixel sends Meta page events, such as a page view or a completed form, together with your IP address, browser details, the page address, ad click identifiers and Meta's own cookies.

When someone aged 18 or over submits the Sydney vote, our server also sends Meta a copy of that event through the Meta Conversions API, so it is counted once even if an ad blocker stops the Pixel. That copy contains:

  • Your mobile number, hashed with SHA-256. Meta receives a one-way code it can match against its own accounts, not the number itself.
  • Your IP address and browser details
  • Meta's cookie and ad click identifiers, if present
  • The page and the event name

We do not send Meta your name, your age or your answers.

Under 18 data is never shared with Meta. As soon as an age under 18 is entered on the vote, we switch off the Meta and TikTok pixels for the rest of that visit, before a mobile number is asked for. Our server never sends a Conversions API event for anyone under 18.

You can limit how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser.
